The question on many people's minds is: "what's next for the U.S. economy?"
The 5th Annual Economic Forum at the University of Michigan Flint will try to answer that very question and others.
At year's end U-M Flint and the Flint Rotary club partner up for the event which features three speakers in business, finance and economics give a brief presentation about the state of the economy in their area of expertise.
Yener Kandogan, Associate Dean and Professor of International Business at U-M Flint, said when there is a severe recession, it is typical to expect a fast rebound of the economy, but that's something experts haven't observed yet.
"It's taken a long time for us to recover. When there are risks out there investors are wary about making investments and that's what we need to have the economy grow. So until those risks are eliminated I don't think that the U.S. economy will experience the growth rate that we've experienced in previous years."
Kandogan said the risks he is referring to are the fiscal cliff and the currency crisis going on in the eurozone. These risks affect the U.S. economy.
